There's this CPA networking event I'm suppose to sign up for. Most people that go to my business school are big on suit & ties. I do not have a suit & tie on me right now, because in neither of my last 2 jobs was I ever asked to wear one. This is a wine event with firms. I don't really wanna miss it.
Should I still go? Wear maybe a dress shirt and dark jeans? Then if the topic comes up, I'll tell people, "This is how I dressed when I worked in ____" (the event is in Canada, I worked in a big US tech city, and all high end CPAs I know want to work in this city due to bigger pay). So, it'd work coincidentally to transition as a topic interesting to them right?
Or will it just not work, because they'll be like, "This ahole isn't wearing a suit"?
